Lots of my mommy friends are doing blog posts about different activities they are doing with their children leading up to Christmas. I LOVE it as I LOVE Christmas! So we’ve been doing a lot of different things each day. I’m just not going to be as organized about it and do a separate post for each, so I’m going to update you with a few big posts with a bunch of different projects we’re doing!
Day 1: Decorate the house for Christmas!
Russ, we checked every bulb didn’t we? Sure dad.
Day 2: Lighting of the Christmas Tree and Advent Wreath and Christmas Carols.
Our Church sponsored a family night event where they had crafts for the kids (various ornaments for the tree), dinner, Christmas Carole sing-along and lighting of the Christmas Tree. They also gave us a felt advent wreath to take home, that has felt candles with velcro on the bottom, so Finn can “light” the candle each week. It is seriously the cutest thing! Finn was interested in the crafts for all of 5 minutes, I’d say he spent about a minute at each different craft.
But mostly momma was left finishing….
And then there was music
And at the very end of Silent Night, they shut off the lights and lit the tree! ohhhhhh
Day 3: Reindeer (even though it looks like a moose) Craft
Finn, Riley, Grandma and even Purdue Pete
(yes, that is his milk in a beer koozie, and no this was not my doing, he’s a very smart, Beverage temperature conscious kid)
Day 4: Snowmen
Day 5: Festive shoes
Day 6: Christmas Jammies and Stories
We went to storytime at the library and while we were there we picked up Merry Christmas Curious George!
Day 7: Gingerbread Train (Wreck)
I got this cute Gingerbread Train Kit and Gingerbread Party Story and we made an afternoon (MESS) of it! The pictures speak for themselves.
Day 8: Eat, Drink and Be Merry
Momma and Daddy went out for a much needed night with some good friends for our annual holiday dinner!
