Wrestling

this is a new daily activity.  I know it is just going to get worse.  for now it is mostly FUN.  no one has started bleeding yet.  and is it wrong of me to get excited when Riley pins Finn down?  he’s just taken so much abuse…..but he’s starting to dish it back.

Dinosaur Adventure

You may remember this post where we went to watch the Dinosaurs being installed in front of the Fernbank Museum.  Well it has been almost one year and we still hadn’t gone back for a visit.  Finally we went on a rainy day last week.  The boys had a lot of FUN wandering around and checking out the dinosaurs.

All throughout the museum there are phones that you can pick up and listen to info on whatever exhibit you are looking at.  Finn was obsessed with these phones.

Momma goes to Washington

One of my Christmas presents was a weekend away to visit my bestie Taylor in DC.  I finally cashed in on that gift last weekend and went to visit Aunt Tay Tay for her birthday!  We had a blast!  Taylor lives in an awesome neighborhood that I hadn’t been to before, so we checked out her new place and then we set off on foot and walked for hours!  It was awesome!  I’ll admit, it was also awesome to not have a clue or care as to what time it was!  We went shopping and then we headed to the marina to go to this awesome place for dinner, right on the water with views of the city in the background!  After many margaritas we walked approximately 30 miles to do a night-time tour of the city….I had to go see Abe!

I’m coming for you Abe….

So, I’m using our old camera and it takes awful pictures (it was the camera, I swear, not the 5 margaritas) and I’m sitting here taking the above picture like 40 times and I turn around to this..

Pensive WWII moment, couldn’t have been captured without an amazing photographer

This would have been awesome with a better camera

This took only 3 takes to get us and Abe in the background

So glad to see you Abe!

Saturday we went to a Nationals baseball game.  They were playing the Milwaukee Brewers and the Purdue Alumni Club was having a joint tailgate with the Wisconsin Alumni Club.  I did a lot of stuff with the Purdue Alumni Club when I lived in DC so I was excited to go to an event when I went back!  However…almost 7 years later, it should be no surprise that I now know no one!  ha!

The tailgate (looked cooler than the picture I swear!)

And the ballpark!  And this is what Taylor does with her arms in all pictures.

Well, what the hell, why not?

Poor Tay Tay, bought this HUGE box of skittles, that came with a TEENY TINY bag of actual skittles.

After the game there was a beer tent with live music!  Yes Please!

After the beer tent we went to get pedicures and then off to dinner with some old friends!  And then we hit Georgetown dancing all night long.  Way.too.much.FUN.  Unfortunately (wink wink) my camera died after the beer tent, so no more pictures to share.  And on Sunday before heading back to reality, we went to brunch with some of Tay Tay’s girlfriends to celebrate her 34th birthday (ha!) and then went to Cheesecake factory for a slice of cheesecake to round out the day!  Love you Tay Tay!  I had the BEST weekend!  And a serious shout-out to daddy for letting me leave early on Friday and come home late on Sunday and taking care of the boys all weekend while I played!

Tis the season!

It is festival season in Atlanta and we could not be happier!  Atlanta is full of pocket neighborhoods and almost all of them have their own festivals which start in the spring and roll through the fall.  We.LOVE.festivals.  At the beginning of every year, I go through and find all of the festivals and add them to our calendar!  We especially love the ones that start in the spring before it is 900 degrees!  I was out of town for the first official weekend of festivals, but daddy took the boys to the Dogwood Festival and the Sweetwater 420 Earth Day Festival in Candler Park.  Here’s a few pics:

How does your garden grow?

We planted a garden with the boys this past weekend.  Todd and Finn went to the store to pick up all of the supplies.  They got three different types of tomato plants, a basil plant and some watermelon seeds.  When they got home our neighbor gave us a couple of his tomato plants as well.

First we had to go get some compost/mulch….Finn is such a good helper!

And on the way back home we just had to stop for a CFA milkshake and we gave the boys their first taste…..um, slight understatement, it was a big hit!

Dude, don’t bogart the shake!

Riley, ready to work!

By now Finn was throwing rocks, so daddy finished up!  Can’t wait to watch our garden grow!
