Young Groupies

We had perfect weather for the Candler Park Fall Festival last weekend.  We played on the playground, walked through the artist vendors, made it to the kids area and let the kids bounce and slide and then we headed over to the music stage to get our groove on.  They had a little mini-stage in front of the main stage and all the little kids jumped up on it and we dancing.  The boys were no exception!

Soccer Team Photo

So they had photos taken at soccer last week and while they were attempting to set the kids up for a team photo, I snapped 22 photos myself.  The progression of these is hilarious!  But here’s the money shot!

5-4-3-2-1-Blast Off!!!

Finn’s soccer team is The Rockets!  They do this ADORABLE little chant at their games!  I’ve failed to get it on video, but finally someone else did and shared it with me, and now I share it with you all!

Trick or Treat!

Oh.My.Goodness!

We took the boys for their first Trick Or Treating tonight!  Yes, this was Finn’s first time too!  We almost weren’t going to do it because we had gone out to dinner, but we decided we had a little bit of time and that we’d just do a few houses.  When we asked Finn if he wanted to go trick or treating he was so excited I think he almost wet his pants!  Ha!  We got him into his Iron Man costume as fast as we could and we took off out the door practicing saying “Trick or Treat!!!!”.

Our street didn’t have ANY houses and it was a slow start but then we found a good street and we made it about a two block radius around our house.  Finn was SO cute, So excited, SO sweet and SO polite.  A few houses had people outside waiting for their trick or treaters and then there were a few that he had to knock on the door.  I had also prepared him that people would ask him what he was and he was supposed to tell them Iron Man.  One house we got up to and he didn’t say Trick or Treat so I was behind him and said “What do you say Finn?”  and he said “I’m Iron Man” hahahaha  she laughed and then said, “what are you supposed to say to get candy” and he said “please?”  hahahaha  how can you argue with that logic?  He was so sweet and had SO much FUN!  Riley even got in on some of the action too, and scored some candy!

And when we were all done and came home, he couldn’t wait to get out of the bath and into jammies so he could help hand out candy.  It was a little late and I wasn’t sure we would get anyone.  We sat out on the front porch reading our Halloween Bedtime Stories with our bowl of candy when FINALLY a family came up to the house.  Finn was SO excited.  He ran over and grabbed the bowl and it took it to the stairs and handed candy into each persons bag.  You should have seen his face.  We got three more sets of trick or treaters while we were out there and he was eagerly looking up and down the street while we were reading stories waiting for trick or treaters to comes.  Such a sweet boy, our Finn!

Boo at the Zoo 2010

This is our third year going to Boo at the Zoo!  We missed the actual Boo at the Zoo activities this year and we didn’t wear costumes, but we still went to the zoo on Halloween!  Ha!

Pumpkin Carving, Lighting and Dancing

Friday night we made a pizza and finally carved our pumpkins!  Finn wanted to be VERY hands on this year.  So we told him before you carve you have to draw on the face.   He took his marker and just drew ALL over the pumpkin!  Ha!  And then there are no photos during carving because having a 20 month old and a 3 yr old and knives and messy pumpkins and such is enough to handle without bringing a camera into the mix.

But once we were done carving, we hopped into the bath and our jammies and then took to the front porch to light the pumpkins…..and measure?

Lakes Halloween Spooktacular 2010!

We threw our second annual Halloween Party this weekend, SO much FUN and SO many awesome costumes!  I didn’t get pictures of everyone who came, but I did get some great ones!

I bought these awesome blow-up ghosts at the dollar store, I’m glad I got two, the boys loved them!  Todd and I pulled out all of the party decorations on Friday night after the kids went to bed and so when they woke up in the morning it was like Christmas!  They were so excited going through everything, squealing with glee!  It was awesome!

Breakfast with the Ghosts!

The decorations are complete, ready for our guests!  (well almost, Todd was still applying his makeup when our first guests started to arrive, we BARELY pulled ourselves together in time!)

And, omg, The Gamers….Operation and Monopoly.  Monopoly had Chance and Treasure Chest cards, money, hand cuffs (ahem) and property cards.  But…..the Operation Game was fully wired and functional, you could pull out the bones and if you touched the sides it would beep at you.  I mean, come on.  How is ANYONE supposed to compete with that?  You win Mr Wightwick, you win!  And next up, the dirty high school coach and his young naughty schoolgirlfriend.

This costume was also awesome….The Pumpkin, I mean he is wearing an actual pumpkin on his head.  Real leaves and vines wrapped around him.  Its just awesome.  And little Cindy-Lou checking out “her” party.
