If you ask anyone, I was completely dreading our trip to Disney. I was certain to tell everyone I felt that way too. Everyone who knew we were going was always cheerily asking “are you so excited for your trip?”. No. I was dreading the crowds and wait times with three small children. Normally an avid planner, I was completely freaked out by the information over-load. There are HUGE books to help plan your trip. Books filled with itineraries to make your wait times less and your trip more enjoyable. But all they did was FREAK.ME.OUT.
But…..
The entire trip was truly magical and so much easier than I anticipated (which wasn’t hard to beat since my expectations were SO LOW, ha!). The boys were SO WELL BEHAVED. Everything was so easy, everyone was so happy (most of the time). The boys saw fireworks for the first time! They stayed up well past their bedtime a few nights without issue. Baby Kellen even got to go on most of the rides with us. It was truly a very wonderful trip!
We drove down on a Saturday and returned the following Saturday. We rented an amazing 3 bedroom condo off-site and saved a gazillion dollars doing so. We went to The Animal Kingdom on Sunday, Magic Kingdom on Monday, Character Breakfast at Chef Mickey’s on Tuesday, an off-day on Wednesday and went to Downtown Disney for Lego Land and lunch at T-Rex, Magic Kingdom on Thursday and another off-day on Friday. We planned the trip with our good friends the Redmond’s, who were staying in another off-site property, which meant we didn’t spend the entire trip together, but a pretty good portion of it.
I of course have hundreds of pictures and so I’m going to write up several posts.
The van all loaded up and ready for the long drive to Orlando!
