I had these shirts made for the boys before we left and kept them a secret until the morning of our first day in the Magic Kingdom!
I love this…..after Finn opened his shirt, he laid it down and put his finger over each letter saying it out loud and Todd caught a picture of each letter.
And these are our attempts at getting all three boys together in their shirts. Impossible.
Off to the park we went!
And straight to Dumbo! Even Baby Kellen got to fly! In fact he rode almost all of the rides with us.
We picked up fast passes to Peter Pan with a bonus fast pass to Mickey’s Philharmagic Show while waiting in a short line at Dumbo. The Philharmagic Show was a little too much for the kids, so we didn’t last very long.
And headed straight over to Peter Pan, which is just super cute and adorable. Me, Todd and Kellen rode together while the bigs rode with grandma and Papa.
After Peter Pan we rode Its A Small World and then we got grandma and papa to wait in line at the Winnie the Pooh ride while we went and rode the tea cups!
The we rode Pooh and then Todd and Reg tried to take Maggie and Finn to go ride Splash Mountain which they had fast passes for, while the rest of us headed over to Tom Sawyer Island to play while we waited. They got most of the way through the ride, just before the big drop and splash when the ride shut down. They had to actually walk off the ride! Talk about a serious let down. They gave some consolation fast passes for any ride to use that day. (This is broken ride #2 for those of you keeping count.)
At that point we went home for lunch and naps so we could return later and stay until park close. We thought this would be our plan, but we were willing to play it by ear. It was definitely the perfect plan for us! As soon as we got back, Todd took off to get fast passes for Buzz Lightyear and we took our time and I got this AWESOME picture!
And I *thought* this was a good place to get a picture of the castle behind us. I was wrong and this was a painful task, and it looks like we’re standing next to a McDonald’s sign!
Buzz Lightyear! It was absolutely pointless for us to try to get the boys to look at the camera, they could not take their eyes off the talking Buzz behind us!
This ride is AWESOME! I think between the two days at the park, we rode Buzz Lightyear probably 8 times!
And I had NO that they take your picture at some point during the ride and we all peed our pants laughing so hard when we saw this….
Nope, I’m not competitive at all.
Next we went to the Monsters Inc Laugh Floor! This was so adorable for a couple of reasons. First it was really cool how it was animated but interactive. Second is was actually hilarious. and Third, we made the cut! So throughout the show they would make jokes of people in the audience and flash their pictures up on the big screen. So at one point this little monster is saying “you want to see something scary?” and they show this guy from the audience. Then he says “you want to see something cute?” and they flashed little baby Kellen sitting on grandma’s lap in his little Mickey shirt up on the big screen! and everyone says “awwww” and then the little monster says “ohhh, that one is fresh, right out of the wrapper!” seriously! SO CUTE!
Next we did dinner and went to grab a spot for the parade!
My pictures of the parade are awful, but I’ll put some here anyway! :)
We had an hour to kill so we went and rode Buzz Lightyear again! This picture cracks.me.up!
And then the boys saw fireworks for the first time ever! It was truly magical!
For staying up WAY past their bedtime, the boys did awesome! There weren’t any meltdowns and we had a lot of FUN!
AND…we totally gamed the monorail at the end of the night! After the fireworks there were mobs of people everywhere you couldn’t even move. But we went backwards and rode the tea cups a couple of times while the crowds thinned out. Or so we thought….upon exiting the gate we saw where all the people were. Waiting in the line for the monorail. It was sickening how many people there were. So we sat down for a minute thinking we would let it die down…..a frog landed on Papa’s head from out of nowhere, puffed his neck a couple of times and hopped off! It was hysterical! But then I noticed that as we sat there, more and more people were coming out to get in line. It was never ending. So we decided maybe we would take the ferry boat over, but noticed the mass of people over there. Long story short…..we got on the mono-rail in the “resort” side of the line where there was NO ONE and made it back to the parking lot in less stops than the other line that had easily a thousand people in it!
