The Nursery

When we returned from Thanksgiving we switched the boys into the same room, Riley’s room, making Finn’s room the new nursery.  But since the focus was the boys room at the time, this left the nursery looking like this….

Our first purchase!  This sign is made by a local company that I have been stalking seen at every local festival.  I just knew I had to have one for the nursery.

After a lot of back and forth, many purchased and returned fabrics, I finally found the right match!  The cheeriest fabric in the world!  Every time I see this fabric I get happy!

So the room will be very colorful!  Aqua, red, yellow, lime and brown!

Two bumpers done….4 to go…

1/23/11:  Today we attempted to reconfigure the room….we had 5 configurations and neither of us are happy with any of them.  Le sigh.  For now this is the way we’re leaving it, even Riley says “all done!”

1/30/11:  And the crib bedding is all done!

And I finally made some slip covers for the pillows on the guest bed…..

3/7/11:  ALL DONE!!!!  YAY!!!  Eventually we will put the glider back in the room too, but for now, here’s how everything looks!  This is the third time we’ve hung the lanterns above the crib.  The first two times they came crashing down into the crib.  We’re pretty sure they are completely secure now but we’re glad we’ve got a little bit of time before baby will be sleeping in there to test that out!  The boys made the artwork above the changing table, which I posted about here.  One of the other challenges we had was that we would need a small table to put a lamp on and the sound machine and monitor….but it had to be REALLY small because we are completely out of space!  But we found one at Ikea that works perfectly!  The glider will go next to it in that area.
