1. Advent Calendars and Wreath
We actually have two Advent Wreaths this year, we have the awesome felt/velcro one but then when we went for the Hanging of the Greens at church, we picked up a pine one with real candles.
The boys each chose which calendar they wanted to use. Kellen is using stickers to fill the tree, Riley is gluing cotton balls on to fill up Santa’s beard and Finn is cutting off Santa’s beard!
2. Decorate the house/tree
The boys could not wait to start decorating the house. We hung the lights outside last weekend and waited to open up the others bins for the other decorations and to bring up the tree!
Finn decorated the smaller tree outside.
3. Santa Parade
We sat in the same awesome place as we do every year! And this year they have put up a new play structure!
And the Redmond’s joined us this year!
Freaking adorable dog!
Riley tackling hugging the penguin! Finn got a hug in too! The parade got off to a slow start and a bunch of “big heads” came trickling through for a while, so it was clear for the kids to run into the street to hug them. Riley was hysterical running out to hug EVERYTHING!
Finally!
The Elves and The Nutcracker!
Kellen LOVED it!
Finn was wearing his Superman Shirt so he got some Super love!
Llama Llama, Frosty, Dragon, Bob the Builder, Olivia, The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Gingerbread Men, Minions, Happy Feet, Coca Cola Bear and Rudolph leads the way for SANTA!!! “I Know Him!!!”
Added bonus…Rudolph noses!
4. Santa!!
All week we had been talking to the boys about seeing Santa and needing to make a list to show him. At one point during the week, Riley sat me down and told me he wanted the following: A Real Pony, A Real Monster, A Real Cow, A Real Reindeer, A Real Race Car, A Real Present, A Real Bear, A Real New Game, and a Water Gun that is Really Real. Someone is going to be Really disappointed. In the end when it was time to make the official list, he settled on “Big Candy Cane, Skateboard and Skates”.
Finn wrote his list himself including a skateboard, monopoly and an elf he can touch. hahahahahaha
Finn reading over his list with Santa
Riley was hiding and was refusing to go, so we tried Kellen who was very hesitant at first…
But quickly warmed up!
But Riley still had a tough time…so this happened….and Santa was an awesome sport!
And then he was good to sit with the jolly old man!
All three of my beautiful smiling boys!!!
And our annual group photo!!!! LOVE!
5. Hanging of the Greens
It has been two years since we went to this event just because of timing of the small ones, but we are SO glad we went this year! We are so thrilled to have this beautiful tradition at church!
There were a bunch of crafts for the boys to do, ornaments to make and then to hang on the tree! Our boys made A LOT of ornaments! :)
Hanging them, they really just loved getting to climb the ladder!
And there was dinner!
And music!! Our good friend Mr. Chad was one of the guitarists for the night which the boys thought was SO cool!
And we all sat and sang carols together….
Until we sang Silent Night and lit the tree!!! ohhhhh
6. Elf
As I mentioned in a previous post, our Elf, Mac, is back!!!
7. Christmas Jammies
and our elf brought the boys matching Christmas Jammies!!!!
8. Church Christmas Pageant
This was Finn’s 3rd year in the Church Christmas Pageant and his class sang The First Noel! This was Riley’s 1st year in the pageant and his class sang Away In A Manger! It was an adorable pageant! After the rehearsal last week, we were told by 3 different people that in regards to Riley we “had a star on our hands”! Evidently he was the only one singing and he was singing loudly! lol! He had actually asked me at one point “but momma, what if everyone is too shy to sing?” and I told him that he would just have to sing louder! Evidently he took my advice to heart! :)
