Turkey Puppets

The boys have been doing so many fall crafts at school, that we haven’t done any fall crafts of our own, until finally, we made…..

Pumpkin Patch Phone Dump

As I mentioned in our Pumpkin Patch post, our camera battery died early at the pumpkin patch.  Todd did however take a bunch of pictures on his phone.  They aren’t super great quality, but they are cute!

Home Organization Robot

I’m on a serious home organization kick right now.  So today, Finn picked up one of the boxes from some device I bought and thus began the following 5 minutes:

Finn:  We need to recycle this box!

Me:  {very proud} Yes we do!  Can you help fold it down?  You need to open up the bottom of it first.

Finn:  {opens the bottom of the box and proceeds to put the box over his head} I’m-A-Robot-Beebo, Beebo!

Me:  Yes!  Come here, take the box off…..{I proceed to take my letter opener, cut two holes in the box, cut the top and bottom pieces off the box}

Finn:  {puts the box on, sticks his arms in the holes, picks up one of the lids and says} I need a mask!

Me:  {take lid, hold up to his face, make marks for eyes and nose, grab some rope and voila!  }

35 and Still Alive!

A minor milestone happened this past week…..momma turned 35!  Woot!

Birthdays aren’t as awesome as they used to be.  Waking up to “I want raisin cereal” screamed in your face is not as welcoming as “happy birthday momma, I love you so much”.  Having to actually tell your children that it is your birthday and their response “ohhhh, will there be cake??!!??” is equally humbling.  The day did get much better:  lunch with uncle buzz, a shower, an after school trip on a beautiful fall day with my boys, pizza delivery (no cooking, no clean-up), cake, ice cream and celebrating with friends!

I felt like 35 was kind of a milestone and that we should do something to celebrate.  The problem was my birthday fell on a Wednesday and the weekend before was our Halloween party and the weekend after we leave for Disney.  So what to do…..I decided I wanted to go bowling!  And not fancy bowling either, I wanted beer and wings and bowling!

Unfortunately, we didn’t actually get to bowl.  :(  There were leagues playing that night, which we had called ahead to ask about and they assured us there were plenty of lanes….plenty of BROKEN lanes.  So after hanging out for an hour we headed to another bar where we played pool and shuffleboard….equally FUN!

Such a Cry Baby

Ohhhhh, so THAT is why he was crying the entire time we were driving around town.

Note to self:  take hats off while in the car.

Halloween 2011

I wasn’t able to get a picture of all three boys in their Halloween outfits or pajamas, but I managed one of Riley and Kellen!

Time for Trick or Treating!  Kellen and I went with the bigs for a few houses and then we headed back home to hand out candy.  The bigs came home with a TON of candy!  Holy moly!

The Guido Hat

This was the inspiration….

After much searching the internet, I decided to get crafty and make my own Italian hair!  So I took a basic babies knit hat, put it over the top of a schooner filled with wine corks, hot glued a ton of tufted cotton balls and then spray painted it!
