Baby Kellen and I get to spend alot of quality time together now, and this kid just cracks me up. He is so sweet and loving and happy and FUN!
All.Day.Long.
The boy can sing!
Second day of summer camp, baby Kellen walks in, announces "heeeey" to the class, high fives his teacher and runs to his friends without so much as a look back.
A friend of ours organized a morning of science experiments for our littles at her house!
We put a bar of Ivory soap in the microwave and watched it expand!
We put pop rocks in to a balloon and then put the balloon on top of a sprite bottle, pouring the pop rocks into the sprite and blowing up the ballooon!
And then we drank some of the pop rock sprite!
Then we mixed cornstarch and water which made this really weird substance. It was both solid and liquid and really cool. And as you can see, the adults had as much, if not more, FUN than the kids with it.
And then we created a Mentos and Soda Geyser!!!
And then we enjoyed some frozen yogurt pops!
Kellen and I went on a little play date with our friends out to Stone Mountain where we found an awesome little spot at the creek where the kids could wade in the water and play and we had a picnic. It was glorious!
And this is how Kellen fell asleep on the way home, with a pretzel sticking out of his mouth! Ha!
Poor Kellen, his hair was all down in his eyes and he couldn’t even see, but I wanted to wait until after The Bigs school pictures to cut it because I didn’t want it to be too short. So I literally scheduled the hair cuts for the afternoon after picture day!
Befores and Afters…to be honest, Riley’s hair was perfect before, but this momma only makes combined trip for hair cuts!
This was the first year that I got to go to the Shade Festival in Grant Park. I think that Todd took the boys two years ago because I had a wedding, and last year Todd and I had a day/night away from the kids and Uncle Buzz took the bigs to the festival. We had the most perfect weather, it wasn’t too hot and, well, the festival is all shaded so that makes it nice! King of Pops and Beers and Great Music and Food!
The weather continued to be awesome that weekend and we had a picnic dinner Sunday afternoon in the front yard!
3 weeks after The Bigs started school, it was finally Kellen’s turn! 2 days before his first day, we went in for Open House so he could meet his teachers, check out his class room and the music room. He absolutely LOVED it and made himself right at home!

He absolutely loves going to school! He gets so excited when I tell him it is a school day, he jumps right out of the car when they come to get him and he is so happy and tired when I pick him up!
Before Finn got his official set of golf clubs, he made his own club out of Legos.
I love how he always sets up grandma bear to watch him play!
I mean, it goes without saying that all of our weekends are jam packed with FUN, but this was especially FUN!
Friday night I had a mom’s painting night at a friends house. She brought in her uber talented brother-in-law, who taught us how to paint….

The next morning Finn had t-ball evaulations and then we headed to The Fabulous Fox Theater for a morning of Cartoons! The old Looney Tunes Cartoons! We took along Alec and Aerin too and had so much FUN! Lots of giggling!
Then we headed to the Oakhurst BBQ and Blues Festival….in the rain.
There was face painting….Finn and Kellen’s was just so perfect and adorable and then Riley walked over to us when he was done and we all stood their trying not to laugh hysterically. WTF? The balloon guy also made Kellen a little doggie balloon bracelet! So stinking cute!

And that night we got a sitter and went out to a crazy dinner with friends!
