Kellen’s 2 Year Stats

Yeah, we still call him Baby Kellen.

“What’s that?”  Everything is “What’s That?”  He is so curious and will stop all books to ask about ALL of the details on the pages.  And as you read to him, he will read aloud with you, reciting entire books.  This is different from his brothers who would always just sit quietly for endless amounts of time listening to you read to them.  Some of his favorite books right now are:  Runaway Bunny, Blue Hat, Green Hat, Sheep In A Jeep, Little Toot, Hand Hand Fingers Thumb and Runaway Bunny.

Runaway Bunny, is just the cutest book and I think is so perfect for us.  He loves to read it with me and snuggle with me and he even has two favorite bunnies “Momma Bunny and Baby Bunny”.

He sometimes sucks 3 of his fingers as he is going to sleep.  And he sleeps in the big queen sized bed!  The crib is gone now since he wouldn’t sleep in it (as a crib or converted to a toddler bed).  So the youngest of the boys is sleeping in the biggest bed and the oldest of the boys is sleeping in the smallest!  Finn is sleeping in a crib converted to a toddler bed, Riley is sleeping in the double bed and Kellen in the queen!  I think that speaks volumes of Finn’s easy-going-ness!

“Pizza Pizza!”  Every time the oven beeps (from the timer or to it being pre-heated) and now even when the microwave beeps, he shouts out “Pizza Pizza!!!”  It is hilarious and adorable.

“I Win!” The boys started having competitions about who could get their buckles fastened the fastest and Kellen has quickly caught on…or mostly anyway, because it doesn’t matter what order he is, he still shouts “I Win!” and throws his hands up in the air whenever his buckles are clipped!  (He also does it to his booster seat buckles at the dinner table!)

Drumming:  We still have the formula canister drums we made from Riley’s 2nd birthday party.  Kellen will grab two of them, put one under his arm and carry the other to either me or Todd and say “Drum, Drum!?!” and we will drum together and dance and march and stomp.

 

and he loves to wear the big drum too!

“Yep!”  When you ask him questions he answers with the cutest little “Yep!”.  Or also, “nope!”

His first word was momma.  Yeah, I’m going to get a little mushy and nostalgic now, I love this sweet little boy SO much.  I can’t remember him being this tiny.  He is still however this snuggly!  He still tucks his little arms in between us when I hold him.  At bedtime he asks me to “hop in bed” and when I lay next to him, he wraps his tiny little arm around my neck and kisses me.  I mean, talk about melting!

And how strong!!  It was like he just had to see my face and look me in the eyes.  Magical moment.

 

Aaaaand off to the doctor we went!  What does the tiger say?  Rooooooooaaaaaaar!

 

And the aftermath of giving him pens to draw with, we did alot of drawing on the paper, but he got is aaaaaalll over himself too!

No vaccinations at the 2 yr appt, score!  They tested his eyes and think he has an astigmatism in his left eye, and that his ear tubes are starting to fall out.  Here are his stats!

Baby Kellen Turns 2!!!!

TWO!!!

I decided that we didn’t need to have a big blow-out birthday party for Kellen this year.  It was honestly the smartest, best thing I’ve done in a long time, lol!  With all that we’ve got going on right now AND the fact that Kellen really doesn’t have any friends his age AND knowing this is the last year I could get away with not having one!

“What do you mean there is no #2 foamy finger AND no birthday party?”

 

But I did feel the need to do a little something!  So we invited just a couple of families over for some cake, cupcakes, balloons, pizza and playtime!  It was SO much FUN!

And the next morning he opened presents!  He got a new tricycle and some train tracks!  And our friends gave him a sprinkler type toy!  Happy, Happy Boy! 

Random Musings

So, we live on Hosea Williams Drive….Riley now likes to say:

“No Way, Hosea!”

It makes me LOL every time he says it!

 

We met up with some friends at the zoo after school recently and went to dinner with them and she took this adorable picture of us!

After being kicked out of our house for a week for painting, the boys all huddled together on the ottoman for TV viewing when we got home.  It was cuter before they noticed I had the camera, but I still love them huddled together.

And we’re going through a round of sick right now.  :(  We’ve honestly been very lucky this year I think, but now it is our turn.  Finn had a stomach bug for two days, then a week later Kellen had a stomach bug for two days immediately followed by Finn with strep for two days, then we had two days of healthy and now Riley has the stomach bug.  :(  But the worst part was that during Finn’s stomach bug, Grandma Bear lost an eye in the wash.  Thankfully Finn handled this better than I would have, ha!  He keeps saying that she is winking at you and that she turned 65, so she lost her eye.  :)

 

And on the day that Finn was diagnosed with strep, all three boys had fevers and snuggled together on the back of the couch together!

 

House Update

So I’ve been unbelievably negligent on the blog updates lately, but I have a good excuse.

We’ve been getting our house ready to put on the market!  In the process we first had to clean out the basement and get it organized so we could then declutter the upstairs of the house to put down in the basement!  We had two different handymen come to the house to work on projects.  And we got the interior and exterior of the house painted which included us getting kicked out and moving in with uncle buzz for 5 days. 

This is the first day they came to pressure wash and scrape the exterior, the boys were going nuts!

But it felt good to hang this back up, even if it is only temporary!

And then came the deep clean.  ugh.  and a million other tiny projects that Super Grandma and Papa helped us with!!!

TODD needed to clean off our beautiful dresser and his corner….I wish I had taken a better before picture of the floor on his side of the bed.

The living room, sadly no before pictures, though I’m sure there are a thousand on the blog….where are the toys???  lol!

And then there was the walkway!

 

So now we are done, the house is officially on the market and we’ve already had a couple of showings and an open house scheduled for tomorrow.  It feels so good to finally be able to sit down on the damn couch, though there never really is time for that either!  LOL!  Ohhh, and there is the small matter of the fact that we have no place to move, so…..wish us luck, it is all in God’s hands now and we have faith that it will all work out!  We are accepting all prayers and good thoughts though!
