Baby Riley :(

This week was a scary week for us and baby Riley. On Monday Riley fell off of mommy and daddy's bed, about a 3 foot drop, onto the hardwod floors. I called the ambulance right away, they came and checked him out and they said they thought he was fine. After talking it over with daddy though we decided we would both sleep better if I took him into the hospital to make certain his head was ok. Went into the ER, got a CT scan done to find he had a fracture in his skull and some bleeding. We were admitted to the ICU to be closely monitored for the night and additional testing. A final CT scan on Tuesday morning revealed that the bleeding hadn't gotten any worse and we were allowed to go home Tuesday afternoon. Through it all Riley was a champ and was his usual happy self, except he did not like getting an IV, he especially did not like the failed first attempt at the IV, and he didn't like all the other things they attached to him. He also didn't like sleeping in the hospital crib, so mommy and daddy took turns holding him all night long. He was super good for the CT scans though but it was so sad to see him all strapped into the big machine. We are beyond thankful that he is OK and we'll go back in three weeks for another scan and to see the neurologist to verify everything is healing properly. In the mean time please keep him in your prayers that everything continues to heal well!
