Finn Air
Atlanta has a small little airport, Peachtree Dekalb Airport, that has a fun little playground, airplane watching area and even a little restaurant that are perfect for watching all the action. Since Finn is in love with all things with wheels or things that fly, we finally found a weekend day that wasn't raining (well for about a half hour anyway) that we could take a family trip over to check it out! Definitely a lot of FUN!

Inaugural Family Hike
Mommy finally rejoined the hiking team this past weekend as the family hiked up Stone Mountain. This was Riley's first ever hike! Mommy carried Riley halfway up the mountain and the whole way back down but Uncle Buzz helped out halfway up! Doesn't Uncle Buzz look like a natural? ;) Finn had a lot of FUN playing in the puddles at the top of the mountain, he was SOAKED!
Staying at home perks
So far there have been a lot of little perks to being a stay-at-home-mom, but this one takes the cake so far! When Finn was with the nanny and then in daycare, I always told myself that the first time I saw him do something (walking, crawling, etc.), or heard him say something (momma, dadda, etc.) that I would count that as the first time he did it, not when the nanny or daycare told me he did it, but when I saw/heard it with my own eyes/ears. And I was always OK with that. But last week was the first time Riley laughed and I KNOW for a fact that it was the first time....and better yet, it was because mommy was tickling him! Gah! I can't get enough of it, it is just too cute! And a little video to share with you all!
My apologies...
my apologies to those of you who have so kindly harrassed me about the fact that our family picture on the blog is desperately out-dated! I know!!! It is a very old picture, a little over a year old to be exact, but until we get a decent new family photo (one where mommy is not a heffer, has semi-decent hair, both boys look somewhat presentable and are looking at the camera and daddy isn't making a funny face - tall order I know), that one will have to do! but soon, I promise, soon I will update that photo!

A reason to call 9-1-1
While we were playing outside Friday night, a firetruck came to our neighbors house. Finn LOVES firetrucks and to have one this close was a dream come true! So as they walked over to look at it from across the street, the firemen were nice enough to wave us over to come take a closer look!
Another zoo trip
Well, mommy had a great idea....let's go to the zoo! So mommy, Finn and Riley met up with some other mommies and babies at the zoo. and.....Mommy, Finn and Riley all left the zoo in tears. It was an exhausting trip and Finn was not in the best mood, there seemed to be a lot of wrestling and tantrum throwing going on. I did get just these few pictures that look pleasant enough. Mommy will have this solo inaugural zoo outing permanently burned into her memory for.e.v.e.r.

We made the paper!
So thanks to the decatur mama's, I got a heads up that the Fernbank Museum was going to be loading in a new family of dinosaurs this morning, complete with cranes and other cool equipment that I knew Finn would LOVE! So we headed over with Maggie and her momma to check out the action.....and our local paper, the AJC, took a picture of us and included it in their story online! Here's some of our pictures, and theirs!

Kirkwood Spring Fling
This past weekend was our neighborhood festival, the kirkwood spring fling, full of local artists, live music, food and childrens events. We did an awful job of getting any pictures, but here's snack time while listening to some music. And the last is a good picture of Finn shoveling grapes into his mouth, he's like a little squirrel.

3 months old
He looks pretty excited to be 3 months old too! No official weigh in this month, but unofficially he's weighing in at 15.5 pounds and is 26 1/4 inch long....the same that Finn was at 4 months old! LOL! And as you can see, he's super Smiley!
Gold Star for Finn!
So as I mentioned before, Finn is obsessed with lawnmowers. Today we went to the trike park in Decatur, a little park with a tricycle track and grassy field filled with TONS of ride on toys, some playground equipment and swings too. While we were there today, Finn found a plastic lawnmower that was missing the handle....how he even knew that the bottom piece was a lawnmower fascinated me enough. But he knew what it was and kept saying "lawnmower" over and over again. I felt bad for him that the handle was missing so he couldn't push it around and I said "we should see if we can find the handle" and off he went playing with other toys. About 10 minutes later I see him looking over at a bench, he quick, takes off running toward the bench, crouches down behind it and throws his arms up in the air victorious with the lawnmower handle in his hands! It was the cutest thing EVER! I was worried that the handle might not be able to reattach but it did and he took off playing with it for what seemed like an hour.
Finally it was snack time, and he brought the lawnmower over to the bench with him and would not let go. A little boy suddenly came running over and grabbed it out of his hands and started to run away but his mommy stopped him and gave it back to us. While the mom was apologizing and trying to tell her son that mine was playing with it first, I asked Finn if he could share the lawnmower with the little boy......and little Finn, walked over to the little boy and handed him the lawnmower. Tears welled up in my eyes, I was SO proud of him! I know how much he loved that lawnmower and he easily shared it. Such a sweet proud moment for me!
And because grandma is in town and is a sucker for little Finn and just couldn't wait two months until his birthday, she bought him his own little mower today! The joy when he realized he was getting his own mower and bringing it home with him was priceless. The whole way home from the store he kept saying "Finn mower in car!". Here are some pictures of him mowing in the tall grass at the park, and of his own mower at home!
