Mr. Kellen Goes To The Zoo

We had such a good night, that I decided I was brave enough to head to the zoo with the boys….and grandma of course!  :)  It was a GORGEOUS morning, perfect for the zoo, it wasn’t too crowded, we actually ran into some friends there and everyone behaved very well!  A success for Kellen’s first trip to the zoo!

This giraffe was using its super long and sticky tongue to eat the leaves from the tree.  The boys thought this was HYSTERICAL!

And this is the first time I’ve seen the baby panda out playing!  5 months old!  Sooooo cute!

Little Feet

Now that Kellen is here we needed to add his foot prints to the canvas hung in his room.  He was born with ENORMOUS feet and we were worried they wouldn’t fit.  But we also kept forgetting to actually get them painted and on the canvas.  The paint is in the big boys room (HIGH up on a shelf that even I can barely reach) and then there is the always sleeping baby.  So at the end of each day, I’d remember that I’d forgotten to get the paint out of the boys room before putting them to bed….or the baby would be sleeping all day and we couldn’t paint.  And with each week that passed, and his feet just getting bigger and bigger, I kept getting more nervous they wouldn’t fit!  Finally the stars aligned and we got everything together!  I think he actually liked the paint on his feet, little smiles appeared on his face!  So cute!  And they fit!

FUNday Saturday

As I mentioned it is festival season here in Atlanta!  One of the most popular festivals was also this weekend, the Candler Park 420 Festival, which is a great festival with great music and all the usual festival-ness……but the beer lines are atrocious.  So, our friends decided to give the finger to the festival and make their own 420 festival at their house!  Yay!  But, long ago, Uncle Buzz had set the wheels in motion for the guys to go to Roller Derby that day.  So we split up.  Me and grandma and the boys went to the Lutz 420 Festival and Todd and Papa went to Roller Derby!  A good time was had by all!

Kellen: Weeks 2 and 3

We’ve been up to nothing.  No really.  But here are a few things….

Kellen had his first date!  Baby Lila is 12 days younger!  He was so nervous for his first date, he woke up with three pimples that morning!  As soon as we laid them down next to each other, Kellen made his first move!

And then he tried the classic “stretch to put his arm around the girl” move!

 

He’s got his own blankie now just like his big brothers!  Thanks Lukac Family!

He is sleeping in his own bed now!  Kills me he won’t be this little for very long!  :(

And there has been LOTS of snuggle time!  I’m enjoying as much snuggle time as I can get now while grandma is here helping with the older boys, since I know it’ll be hard to get the time when she leaves.

Dogwood Festival 2011

Its festival season in Atlanta, our favorite time of year!  This weekend is the Dogwood Festival (and the Candler Park 420 Festival) and Todd took the day off since Papa was in town for his birthday!  So we decided to head to the festival after nap time.  Sever storms are rolling through Atlanta and even though they didn’t start until later that night, the ominous clouds and scary wind kept the crowds away (and the weather cool!)!  So we headed down for Kellen’s First Festival!!!  It was a huge success!
