So now we know what Finn is going to look like as a teenager.
I.die.
Two thirty-somethings having FUN being parents!
Todd took Finn and Riley camping with Uncle Buzz and our friend Mr Chad and his three kiddos Hudson, Edison and Eliza! This was Riley’s first time camping out in the woods and he did awesome! Momma got to stay home with baby Kellen, it was amazingly quiet and relaxing.
Setting up camp
And they hiked out to a waterfall!
And the boys checking out daddy’s new hammock!
This week was Teacher Appreciation Week at school! Each day was a different “theme”. Monday was hand-made cards, Tuesday was chocolate/candy day, Wednesday was flower day, Thursday was fruit day and Friday was personalized gift day. We were given a brief description of our teachers at the beginning of the year which included their favorite colors, snacks, restaurants, etc etc etc. which was super helpful this week!
I didn’t take pictures of everything we did, but I did take pictures of the hand made cards that Finn did! These cards show his HUGE progression he has made with his writing this year and I couldn’t be more proud of him! I also love how proud of himself he is!
For Ms Crosby he wanted to make her a snowman card so I helped cut out the snowman circles but he did the rest!
What you can’t see in the below picture is that his right hand is covering up his first attempt at writing his name. He didn’t like the N he made, so he started over….so it looks like FinnFin.
He even wrote her name all by himself!
For Mr Zamarippa, he wanted to draw our family. Once he was done with that he said he was too tired to write Mr Z’s whole name, so we just went with Z.
And ditto for Ms Davis, she got a D and the picture is of her hugging him. :)
For snack day we made cookies for Ms Davis and we bought these huge tubs of trail mix for Mr Z and Ms Crosby and attached these tags to them:
For personalized gift day we had two tea drinkers (For a TEA-rrific teacher) and one coffee drinker (thanks a latte for all that you do) so we put together drinking cups filled with tea and coffee!
Finn was super excited to hand out the gifts each day to his teachers, it was really really sweet. We love Finn’s teachers and all that they’ve done this year.
After having 7 ear infections since December 17th, we were referred to an ENT for tubes. We finally saw the ENT last Monday where he also had a hearing screening done (very minimal hearing deficiency) and he was scheduled for his surgery on Thursday.
The procedure took maybe 3 minutes, enough time for me to walk back to our pre-op room to grab my purse and be escorted over to the post-op room and the doctor walked in and said it was over!
“Momma, I feel a draft….is my bottom hanging out?”
sticky socks….I’ll let you guess how long these stayed on
Basketball!
Digging in the toy box
and they let him pick out a toy from the toy closet….we picked out a cement mixer.
I have some pictures of him post-surgery asleep on the little bed but they are kind of creepy looking so I won’t share. I had asked how long he would be asleep and they said probably just a few minutes. I could hear other babies/children screaming down the hall and the nurse said that they either wake up peaceful and sleepy and happy or they wake up wailing. Right as I set down the camera I turned back in time to see him suddenly shoot up flailing and wailing! That took a while to get him to calm down, he didn’t want to be held and he didn’t want me to let him go. He alternated between sleeping and wailing in the car ride home. Once he got some breakfast in him and a big ole nap he was back to normal….mostly. Let’s pray this gives him some relief!
The East Lake Farmers Market is back open for the summer with a few awesome changes this year. Every Saturday Todd takes the boys down to explore and they typically get a treat (King of Pops, The Little Tart Bakeshop and La Calavera Bakery)
but they also picked up an awesome bunch of carrots!
It is our favorite time of year in Atlanta….Festival Season!!! And to add to the mix of awesome festivals, we heard about this Peace, Love and Bugs Festival that was going to have food and music and most importantly CARS!!!!
Chalkboard paint? Yes!
Filmore!
Well, at least from the front. But there were lots of Filmore’s there!
And it is hard to tell from this picture….but there are THREE car seats in there! This van scared me a bit because Todd was a little TOO excited about this.
