The busiest and most exciting weekend ever!!!

The weekend of April 19th-21st was the busiest weekend in the history of ever!  Todd was leaving Friday morning to fly to Indiana to pack up his parents and move them to North Georgia Mountains!!!  (WOOOOHOOOO!!!!)  This was the most exciting part!  And the busy was everything else!

Finn had a half day on Friday and we also had 1st grade orientation (eeep!!!!).  Saturday we had a soccer game for Riley, a birthday party for one of Riley’s friends (that only Riley was invited to) Finn had golf and a t-ball game and we had a big BBQ at a friends house (4th Annual Lutz 420 Festival).  But of course everything was at conflicting times and with Todd out of town there was no way I could make it to all of those things on my own.

When they say it takes a village…they aren’t joking!  And on this particular weekend, I called in my village for reinforcement!  I had Uncle Buzz come and help with Finn and Kellen while I took Riley to his birthday party and then Aunt Tay Tay came in time for Uncle Buzz to take Finn to golf and she stayed while Kellen napped.  We ended up skipping t-ball and I took them all to the soccer game in the morning and to the BBQ in the afternoon.  It was exhausting coordinating it all, but an amazingly FUN day!

We also threw in a little birthday party for Aunt Tay Tay in there!

And we also squeezed in some time to make cards for Aunt Tay Tay and Papa!!  The boys are being super creative with their cards lately, these were amazing!  In order from top to bottom:  Finn, Kellen, Riley

Sunday morning I packed up the boys and we headed up north to check out grandma and papa’s new place!  Due to many snafu’s, they unfortunately were not moved in to their house and so we helped them out!

And their new GORGEOUS view!!!

And because we just had to squeeze one more thing in, Finn had a school project due on Monday for transportation….so we built a wooden school bus together!

Yes, those are beer caps for wheels.  Klassy.

And then we slept for days.

And Riley got a new outfit, which is his FAVORITE outfit (hooray because I think it is adorable!) and he just wanted to get a picture with Kellen!

East Lake Community Garden Goats!

Our neighborhood garden acquired some goats awhile ago and Todd usually takes the boys over every couple of days while I cook dinner.  Saturday night we had some friends over and after dinner we walked over and fed the goats some dinner!

First the boys sat on the front porch with the front door open facing the TV so they could watch the masters, but still enjoy the gorgeous day we were having.

And off we go….

Oh we so need a mini wheelbarrow….although I suppose we would probably need 3 or they will just fight over them, and where would we put 3, but oh how cute!

Bubbles, Bubbles On My Nose….

BUBBLES!!!!  The Easter Bunny brought some sensitive skin bubble bath for the boys this year and we finally had a night with enough time to let them play!!!

Oh, Riley Roo!

Saturday afternoon I woke up from a nap and could hear Finn and Riley playing, giggling and having a good time together without fighting….but I couldn’t quite figure out where they were or what they were doing…this is dangerous, right?  Well, I got up and found them both in the bathtub….and the water was blue….and what the hell is all over you Riley????

MARKER

It’s like mug shots, no?

According to Todd, Riley came out of his room from quiet time (and he was actually fully clothed, which is really shocking), covered in marker!  Evidently there were markers in his room.  Thankfully, THANKFULLY, he only colored himself!  There is a silver lining everywhere, right?  So Todd put him in the bath and Finn got in with him and the two of them had a blast in the tub in the middle of the day!  There is still remnant marker on his legs, but it is pretty hard to see anymore.

As one of my friends said “Oh Flounder, Never A Dull Moment”!  Ain’t that the truth!

Spring Break Randomness

Spring Break was a success!  I was a little nervous about it because my patience level has been a little low lately and the boys have been testing me.  Not to mention keeping the house clean and showable.  BUT it was amazing!  We did things for the boys and things for me and everyone was really happy and we had alot of FUN!

Every morning has been absolutely priceless!  Not having to immediately get up and start going Mach 10 is a beautiful thing!  We’ve lounged in bed snuggling for almost an hour every morning!

Monday morning they also eventually got up and got into my jewelry….

During quiet time, Finn build a Lego town while I watched some of the Mad Men premier from the night before….

Toddlercize at the gym….a Lakes Boys Train!

And this shocked me the most….Riley independently got out the craft stuff and sat and quietly crafted by himself on the back deck!!!!  For the record, NONE of my children have ever done this….I’m not sure I was more shocked by the act alone or the fact that it was Riley!

And one day, Finn woke me up from a nap by bringing me a bowl of fruit salad that he made himself.  I was very leery to get up and go into the kitchen to see the mess he made.  Turns out however that he didn’t make a mess at all with the fruit salad…..it was the freshly squeezed orange juice though that made a mess…..and yes, those are shot glasses….

Pretty sweet, I gotta admit!  Love that boy!

Southeastern Railway Museum 2.0

Daddy took the boys to the Southeastern Railway Museum back in December, but Kellen was sick so momma stayed home with him.  I asked the boys what they wanted to do over Spring Break and they said they wanted to go back, so we did and we took Uncle Buzz with us and met our friends Karen, Kate and Isaac there!

And then we went on a choo-choo ride!

P1100123 P1100124 P1100126

Kellen says “Chooo Chooo!”

Once the train started moving, Kellen held on tight to Uncle Buzz, awww!

Aaaaand, we’re done here!

You Gotta Nap 2.0

Remember this post from not too long ago?

Evidently this is his favorite resting spot…..

P1100184

And I mean, he was OUT COLD, did not even budge when I walked in, laughed, walked out to get the camera, walked back in, took a picture, put away some of his clothes and I finally had to pick him up.  He was NOT happy to wake up.  Little bubbie!
